Margaret A. Wilson is a native of Waco, Texas, and currently resides in McLennan County.
Margaret's long career of experience in many legal arenas provides valuable depth and perspective to her services for her clients in probate matters such as wills, trusts, estate administration and estate planning, as well as relevant aspects of business law. She was a partner at Vinson & Elkins in Houston, which was at the time and continues to be the largest law firm in Houston. For 14 years at V&E, she tried civil lawsuits and handled complex litigation. While practicing full-time at V&E, she also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at South Texas College of Law in Houston.
Margaret has served as General Counsel to the Office of the Governor of Texas in Austin, and as Deputy General Counsel of the United States Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C.
In addition to her private practice, teaching, and service in both state and federal government legal positions, she has drawn upon and expanded her legal experience by managing both the operational and legal aspects of her own businesses.
Margaret earned her B.A. in 1981, and J.D. in 1983, both summa cum laude, from Baylor University, where she was Associate Editor of the Baylor Law Review. She has been rated by her peers as AV Pre-Eminent for the last 25 years, which is the highest possible rating for both legal ability and ethical standards.
Margaret is a member of the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association.
She is a Life Fellow of both the Houston bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation and is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts and in the Supreme Court of the United States.
